I want to thank all of you for supporting me on the procedure. If it wasn't for all of you, I know I wouldn't be doing as well as I can. It started with a dream I had about seeking medical care for my neck in Southern California. It was then that I met Dr. Eek and from there I made my out to San Francisco. Having practiced physical therapy for 25 years, I can honestly say that the body has an incredible amount of wisdom and intelligence if we are only quiet enough to listen and trust its messages.

Dear Dr. Derby,

I just typed an update letter to you and upon printing I found that I was out of ink. Thus, I resort to perhaps a better way - handwriting.

The Rhizotomies that you performed on April 8th have been very, very successful. I had little area pain following. We returned to our summer home near Lake Superior and I have been able to walk long distances, do strengthening and stretching exercises without pain. It continues to be wonderful that I am able to do so many things that I like to do.

The fused areas that cannot be treated continue to be troublesome and the Duragesic patches continue to give me great relief. I have made several attempts to reduce them but each time I experience "driving" disabling pain flowing down to both knees. I have made peace and realize that it is a must, but, I have been able to reduce the dosage.

I am more grateful than you could ever know that the Neurotomies have made it possible to live without pain in the areas you treated.

You and your staff are exceptional. I surely do appreciate the kindness shown to me. Once again - thank you so very much. I am so happy to return to my normal, very active life. It is just great!
